With a Pensioner voucher you get the Sydney to the Queensland border part of the journey for free. Then you need to pay from the QLD border through to Brisbane, which is half fare.

The most reliable way of finding the price for a pensioner to travel from Sydney to Brisbane is to go to https://transportnsw.info/regional-bookings/

You’ll need your Pension Concession ID. Or call NSWTrainLink on 13 22 32.

You can travel from Brisbane to Sydney by XPT without transfers. The XPT leaves Brisbane daily at 05.55 and reaches Sydney at 20.12 the same day. Check the timetable at https://transportnsw.info/regional-north-coast-line

Hi Elaine.
I just now did a check of the prices and a one way, economy class seniors/pensioner ticket. Sydney to Broken Hill was $69.17. A return ticket would be double that price being $138.34. First class one way would cost you $96.26 one way or $192.52 for a return ticket.

Prices change so you’d be best to check the prices at the NSW Trainlink website at https://transportnsw.info/regional-bookings/ or calling on 13 22 32.

Also don’t forget that if you receive a pension or even a part pension you get 4 free economy class trips a year. You’ll pay a little extra to travel First class. Just call them on 13 22 32 and tell them you;re a pensioner – have your pension card with you for details. The people at NSW Trainlink are helpful, friendly and quick to answer the phone.

if we want to go by train all way from sydney to broken hill and return with our pension concession cards what would it cost both eco and first class please
